The Friends of Urbanna presents

Founders Day 2026 and the 250th Anniversary of Our Country!

Come and join us as we celebrate Urbanna’s colonial heritage.

August 1, 2026

March with our Colonial-style fife and drum musicians as the “town crier” opens the day’s festivities in the heart of town on Virginia Street at 10:15 am and enjoy a full and adventure-rich day until 3:00 pm, immersed in Urbanna’s history. You can pick up a map of the town at our opening ceremony, showing the venues for all events.

As we march and gather in the historic Urbanna Baptist Church, colonial musicians will entertain us as we await our esteemed visitors from the 18th century at 11 am. Historic interpreters from Williamsburg portraying Thomas Jefferson and Martha Washington will deliver a lively presentation, as they present the story of our Declaration and their hopes and concerns for the new 1776 creation…
